SSTV Transmitter

General description

The SkySweeper's SSTV transmitter supports Martin-1, Martin-2, Scottie-1 and Scottie-2 modes. You can load the transmitted picture from the file using 'load' (.BMP) or copy the picture from another application using clipboard. After the picture is loaded, the transmission can be started by pressing 'start'. The transmitter can be resetted by pressing 'reset'. By pressing 'config' you can select the mode to be transmitted and also some other parameters related to the trasmission.

Configuration

Pressing the 'Config' button opens the following configuration dialog.

Parameters

Mode

With this parameter you can select the transmitted mode (Martin-1, Martin-2, Scottie-1, Scottie-2 or Scottie-DX).

Magnitude

With this you can set the magnitude (maximum amplitude) of the transmitted signal. The amplitude value is set as an absolute value. When 16-bit processing is used then maximum magnitude will be 32767. If 8-bit processing is used the maximum is 127.

Sum to RX

With this switch, you can select the input signal of the SSTV transmission block added to SSTV transmission generated by the block. This is very useful feature, when you would like to build multicarrier transmissions (just put several transmitters in chain with this switch set on)

Repeat

When this switch is selected, the same picture will be transmitted again until this switch is deselected or the transmission is stopped.

Load

The load button is used to open a bitmap image into transmission window.

Start

The ‘Start’ button starts transmission from the cursor position. If there are text is selected in the transmission window, only selected text is sent. It is not possible to edit transmission window when transmission is on. Transmission can be stopped any time pressing the ‘Stop’ button. If the TX control signal is enabled start and stop button sets the signal on and off.

Reset

The Reset button clears the transmission window and resets the transmitter.
