The oldest data transmission system in the world - and still in use by a large number of different types of users. Amateurs, Maritime, Military or Diplomatic, all still find this mode of transmission highly efficient. Sure, there are multi-tone systems that can send more traffic and through much more noise and interference than any experienced morse operator, but the beauty of the system is in its very simplicity. All that is basically required, in its simplest definition, is a transmitter and means of turning on and off the RF power.
