The USB cable/device (20-047) will "become" a serial port once it is proplerly installed,
and This is the way software talks to the radio. IF you install the "Drivers" for the USB device, it also sets up a NEW comm port on the computer. If you have it connected the right way, when you plug in the USB the computer will find it.
Try this:
-Go to our Radio Selection menu.
(If you Are a Radio Shack Store)
Click on "If you are using 20-047 Cable" button
-Observe in the BLUISH box the comm ports we say you have.
-UNPLUG the USB adaptor.
-Wait about 20-30 seconds and then
click the button "Check for Valid Comports"
-IF the USB has a serial port assigned,
then ONE of the serial ports will "disappear"
-Plug back in the USB
-Wait 30 Seconds
-Wait about 20-30 seconds and then
click the button "Check for Valid Comports"
-IF the USB has a serial port assigned,
then ONE of the serial ports will "RE-appear"
That will be "the one".
CHECK the BOX "Using 20-047" cable. Then click on the correct commport
That should set all the radios for the same commport.
